Program Introduction
Under the undergraduate program, international students shall finish the studying of one of the following majors in 4-6 years and obtain all required credits. According to regulations of the Degree Management Committee, graduates who have successfully completed their studies will receive a diploma and bachelor's degree. Application Conditions
1.Applicants shall be non-Chinese citizens who hold regular passports, are physically healthy, and meet the following requirements for nationality: According to JWH [2020] No. 12 of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and Article 5 of the Nationality Law of the People's Republic of China, person whose parents are both Chinese nationals and have both settled abroad, or one of whose parents is a Chinese national and has settled abroad, and who has acquired foreign nationality at birth shall not have Chinese nationality. Such person, when applying for scholarships as an international student, shall have held a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for more than 4 years (inclusive) and provide the records of living outside China for more than 2 years from April 30, 2019 to April 30, 2023 (the actual residence outside China of 9 months or longer can be considered a full year, subject to the arrival/departure customs stamp). A person who has migrated from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan (China), when applying for scholarships as an international student, shall have obtained the foreign nationality before April 30, 2019 and provide the records of living outside China for more than 2 years from April 30, 2019 to April 30, 2023 (the actual residence outside China of 9 months or longer can be considered a full year, subject to the arrival/departure customs stamp).
2.Applicants shall have an educational background equal to the high school degree in China.
3.Applicants shall be aged 16-30. Students applying for the government scholarship shall not be aged over 25. Students applying for the President's Scholarship for International Students shall not be aged over 22. Applicants aged under 18 as of September 1, 2023 shall have a foreigner or Chinese who permanently resides in China with the official authorization of their parents as the guardian and submit a Guardian's Guarantee.
4.A minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 throughout high school (scholarship applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher) or a minimum grade point average of 70 (scholarship applicants must have a minimum grade point average of 75) is required.
5. All undergraduate majors of the university are taught in Chinese. Students applying for sports-related undergraduate majors must have passed HSK4 (with a score higher than 200 points) in the past 2 years. For a world-class athlete, the requirement for HSK can be adjusted properly. Students applying for non-sports-related undergraduate majors must have passed HSK5 (with a score higher than 180 points) in the past 2 years. Applicants who are native speakers of Chinese or who have been pre-qualified for the degree may submit an official statement in substitution of the language proficiency certificate. Students applying for scholarships must have passed HSK5 (with a score higher than 210 points) or above.
6.Students applying for the major of sports training must have professional athletic skills. Students applying for the major of acting and dance choreography must be with artistic or dance specialties.
7.Applicants shall have no criminal or bad behavior records.
Application Documents
Applicants must fill out and provide the following documents truthfully, accurately, and completely (if you cannot send paper documents, you can submit an electronic version in the system).
²One copy of valid passport
²One copy of your high school diploma in English or Chinese and one original (or notarized copy) of your transcript. One graduation certificate issued by the school for fresh graduates
²One copy of the HSK certificate within the valid period
²One video (MP4) with a length of less than 3 minutes to introduce yourself in Chinese or English
²One copy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form
²Any certificate or award that demonstrates your athletic skills or artistic talent (if any)
²Certificate of No Criminal Records or Commitment on No Criminal Records
²Letter of Guarantee or Bank Statement proving a minimum bank deposit of CNY 100,000
²Payment certificate for the registration fee (CNY 500 or USD 80)
Note: Applicants submitting paper documents shall bind all documents in the left upper corner and submit TWO copies of bound documents to the university by mail or express delivery. Applicants shall also provide a valid e-mail address for contact purpose. In any circumstance, the application documents and registration fee will not be returned.
Application Procedure
Step 1: Online application
Log in to "Shanghai University of Sport - International Student Service System" (http://admission.sus.edu.cn) to register, fill in the registration form, upload the required documents (in electronic version), and submit the applications.
** Students applying for the Chinese Government Scholarship or Shanghai Government Scholarship shall also submit application documents at the website. For details, please refer to the scholarship enrollment guides of this year. **
Step 2: Paying the registration fee
The registration fee is USD 80 or CNY 500 (which will not be refunded once paid.), which shall be paid online or remitted to Shanghai University of Sport:

Review and Acceptance Process
① Students file applications online.
② Personnel of the Office of International Students Services preliminarily review application documents for integrity and validity.
③ Colleges organize academic reviews and interviews for applications who have provided complete application documents.
④ The International Student Enrollment Leading Group finalize the list of acceptance.
⑤ Personnel of the Office of International Students Services announce the pre-admission results and submit the list of students with scholarships to the superior department.
⑤Personnel of the Office of International Students Services send pre-acceptance notices to accepted applicants and prepare formal acceptance documents.
